About
Gisela Kreglinger grew up on a family-owned winery in Franconia, Germany where her family has been crafting wine for many generations. This unique experience has inspired her to write three books about the biblical, theological and spiritual importance of wine and a video series with study guide called "Wine in the Word".
She holds two master’s degrees in biblical studies from Regent College, Canada and a PhD in historical theology from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. In her books on the biblical, historical and spiritual importance of wine for the Christian faith Gisela has woven together her passions for Christian spirituality and the wonderful and mysterious world of wine.

Gisela teaches Christian spirituality in the academy, churches, on her annual wine pilgrimages, and every time an opportunity opens up around the dinner table, preferably with a glass of well-crafted wine to inspire her musings on food, faith and the importance of cultivating joy and conviviality.

Karen MacNeil, author of The Wine Bible
"This book offers wisdom not just about wine, but about our souls as well ―about the joy, grief, and beauty that shape all of our stories, and that are so intertwined with the making of wine. It will help me drink more slowly and more meaningfully not just from my next glass of wine, but from life itself."
Andy Crouch, author of Culture Making: Recovering Our Creative Calling
This first and most comprehensive book on wine and the Christian faith examines the biblical and theological importance of wine and from this foundation explores the spiritual significance of wine for our lives, our communities and the church today. It is the most academic book and includes a wide range of topics related to wine such as wine in the Bible, wine in the history of the church, wine and the Lord's Supper, wine and feasting, wine, agriculture and technology, wine and health, alcohol abuse and soul care.
